Meridian Tea

Branding & Packaging Design for a high-end tea company. This project is what really sparked my love for packaging design as I dove into every part of the process—selecting a color palette, designing the repeating pattern, laying out all the typography, customizing typefaces, and hand-constructing each box to create a cohesive set. Upon completing the design work, I photographed the set and each individual box.

Inspiration for the pattern design was pulled from the name of the brand—Meridian, the line that splits the globe in half. This circlular, sunray style shape is split in two and offset to create a scalable pattern.

I wanted color to play a big role in this project. I gave extra attention to ensuring the colors would work together as a set, while standing out on their own to highlight the ingredients and flavors of each tea.

The typography—my favorite part of most projects. A lot of this project revolved around keeping the typography at the center of attention as I explored ways to use the type in a lot of different ways around the box.
